The Telangana government is set to establish a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) dedicated to enhancing the state's fiber network infrastructure. Announced on Wednesday, this initiative will leverage a ring architecture to ensure every Gram Panchayat receives strong digital connections.
Initially, the focus will be on restoring digital connectivity in 3,089 villages within Nizamabad, Ranga Reddy, and Khammam, where infrastructure has faced damage. The implementation, part of the Amended BharatNet Program, aims to align these areas with the rest of Telangana's robust network.
Revanth Reddy, during a meeting with Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, highlighted the urgent need for central assistance to expedite this vision of providing high-speed internet across the state. The discussions also tackled the deployment of the T-Fiber project and the necessity for prompt action on agreements and funding.
The strategic establishment of the SPV is viewed as a cornerstone for Digital Telangana, promising to deliver consistent broadband access even during disruptions through a diversified path, ultimately benefiting rural communities.
