In an early morning mishap, a truck carrying poultry collided with a stationary excavator in Thane, Maharashtra, seriously injuring three individuals, officials reported.

The collision occurred on the Nashik-Mumbai Highway, near the Saket Bridge, at approximately 5:56 AM, according to Yasin Tadvi, the chief of the civic Disaster Management Cell.

The truck, which was transporting around 1,600 chickens to the Vasant Vihar area, crashed into an excavator parked on the roadside for repairs. The force of the impact trapped the driver and two passengers inside the vehicle, necessitating an hour-long extrication effort. Emergency responders, including firefighters and police, were quickly on the scene, and the injured parties were subsequently taken to a civic hospital for medical attention.
