The Adani Group and the Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC) of Bhutan have forged a groundbreaking partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop 5,000 MW of hydropower projects in Bhutan. The agreement, witnessed by Bhutan's Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay and other key officials, reinforces the commitment to regional energy security.

Building on their collaboration for the Wangchhu Hydropower Project, the MoU sets the stage for identifying and developing additional hydropower resources. Adani's Naresh Telgu emphasized the MoU's reflection of a strong commitment to clean energy, enabling Bhutan's hydropower potential to generate reliable green energy for export to India.

DGPC's Managing Director, Dasho Chhewang Rinzin, highlighted the strategic nature of this partnership in fostering robust engagement with India. He lauded Adani's global successes and looked forward to strengthening bilateral relations rooted in hydropower cooperation. This initiative, underpinned by governmental support, aligns with Bhutan's renewable energy goals and regional leadership in clean energy.
