On June 20, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the Gorakhpur Link Expressway, boosting both connectivity and commuter safety, according to an official statement.
The expressway will be equipped with an Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS), similar to the Lucknow-Agra Expressway, enabling continuous surveillance and traffic law enforcement. The safety fleet will consist of patrol vehicles, ambulances, and cranes, overseen by ex-servicemen for 24/7 operation.
The expressway connects Gorakhpur with Azamgarh, covering districts like Ambedkarnagar and Sant Kabir Nagar. Plans include installing CCTV cameras every 5 km, speed cameras, and number plate readers to enhance road safety and swiftly address traffic violations.
