Progress is being made on Hyderabad's proposed metro rail corridor between MGBS and Chandrayangutta in the Old City, with pillar markings and road-widening activities well underway, according to Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited managing director N V S Reddy.
The metro alignment is strategically designed to optimize routes while reducing affected properties. Daily reviews with engineering and revenue officials are rigorously monitoring project advances.
Compensation for affected property owners has reached Rs 360 crore, with an estimated 900 properties now impacted compared to the initial 1,100. Construction groundwork has begun with preparatory work for stations and viaducts, ensuring minimal disruption to existing structures.
