Bengaluru Faces Decline in Office Space Leasing Amid Nationwide Growth
Net leasing of office spaces in Bengaluru decreased by 3% to 6 million sq ft from January to June 2025. While net leasing has risen in major Indian cities by 24%, Bengaluru saw a decline. Other cities like Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Chennai experienced increased office space demand.

Bengaluru's office space leasing has seen a downturn, with net leasing falling 3% to 6 million square feet from January to June 2025, according to Cushman & Wakefield.
While other major Indian cities witnessed a 24% rise in net leasing, Bengaluru's decline stands out amid a strong national economic forecast. Kolkata and Ahmedabad also faced declines, but Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Chennai, and Pune experienced increased demand.
The overall new supply of office space across the country increased by 14% annually, reaching 23.2 million square feet in the first half of 2025.
