During this year's Ganesh festival, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) achieved a notable milestone in safe public transportation, ferrying nearly 5.96 lakh devotees from Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar.

The successful operation between August 23 and September 8 involved 5,000 extra buses to meet the festive rush, resulting in 15,388 completed trips across the Konkan region and a revenue of Rs 23.77 crore, said Maharashtra minister Pratap Sarnaik.

More than 10,000 dedicated MSRTC staff worked around the clock, ensuring accident-free travel, stationing repair teams on highways, and maintaining readiness with additional buses for breakdowns, Sarnaik highlighted, praising their collective efforts.
