The Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (AP Chambers) is pushing for the establishment of VFS Global Visa Application Centres in Amaravati and Visakhapatnam. This request, directed to the state government, comes in response to a rising demand for visa services due to increased international travel from the region.
In a statement, AP Chambers president P Bhaskara Rao highlighted the absence of a full-fledged VFS Global centre in Andhra Pradesh, despite the state's significant number of international travelers, including students, NRIs, IT professionals, and entrepreneurs. Rao emphasized that the current lack of local visa facilities forces applicants to travel to other cities, incurring extra costs and inconvenience.
The proposed VFS Global Centre in Visakhapatnam aims to serve not only the North Andhra region but also neighboring states. AP Chambers has appealed to the state government to collaborate with the Ministry of External Affairs and VFS Global to expedite the establishment of these centers.
