In a recent announcement, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma detailed the forthcoming plans for the state's first full-fledged annual Budget under his new administration, set to be revealed in July. This Budget aims to outline the government's strategic roadmap for the upcoming five years, incorporating essential public input and outstanding projects.
Speaking from Batadrava Than in Nagaon, Sarma expressed that the delayed Budget was designed to include resolutions aligned with the BJP's election manifesto, previously restricted by the pandemic. The Budget will reflect a commitment to fully implement these promises and address public needs highlighted during campaign periods.
Upon returning to Guwahati, Sarma held pivotal review meetings focusing on bolstering Assam's economy and enhancing the Food, Public Distribution, and Consumer Affairs sectors. Emphasizing a technology-driven approach, the chief minister directed efforts towards enhancing fiscal strategies, ensuring efficient distribution of essential goods, and strengthening the state's food security system.
