Maharashtra is taking a proactive approach by introducing disaster management training across all industrial training institutes. The initiative, announced by Maharashtra Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, aims to equip students with critical skills in civil defence and emergency response.

On Thursday, a special programme was launched to provide essential knowledge in disaster preparedness to the youth. The training aims to bolster resilience and readiness among young individuals, preparing them to effectively handle national crises and natural disasters.

Initially launched at Rajamata Jijau Government ITI in Kopri, Thane, the programme will gradually extend to other ITIs in the state. Training sessions will be guided by former Director General of Police Praveen Dixit, in collaboration with Aniruddha's Academy of Disaster Management.
