Haryana carried out a comprehensive civil defence mock drill under the title 'Operation Abhyaas' on Wednesday, addressing various hostile scenarios. The statewide exercise included simulations of air raids, fire emergencies, and search and rescue operations to bolster emergency preparedness.
Initiated by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs due to evolving threats post the Pahalgam terror attack, the exercise spanned across multiple districts, engaging civic agencies, police, and other teams. Police Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta highlighted the practical demonstrations for effective emergency responses.
Statewide, the mock drill covered numerous key sites, including government installations and public establishments. Notably, authorities implemented the Incident Response System to improve response readiness and minimize confusion during emergencies, marking a significant move under the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
