Suga, a member of globally renowned K-pop group BTS, has completed his compulsory military service in South Korea. The singer, who served as a social service agent, is the final band member to finish the mandatory duty, setting the stage for the group's highly anticipated return.
Big Hit Music, BTS's label, confirmed that Suga utilized his remaining leave, officially marking his discharge date on June 21. Unlike his bandmates, Suga's discharge was not commemorated with a public event, a decision made due to overcrowding safety concerns. The group had paused their international music careers to fulfill national service requirements starting with Jin in late 2022.
Meanwhile, Suga expressed remorse for a past drunk driving incident while aboard an electric scooter, using fan platform Weverse to apologize to his bandmates and fans. Anticipation is high for BTS's largest-ever world tour expected in 2026. However, no specific reunion details have been disclosed by their management group, HYBE.
