Following the incident, Pandey expressed his desire to transfer due to safety concerns. The accused is currently absconding.

In a shocking incident in Nadia district, college principal and environmentalist Subhasis Pandey was attacked while attempting to repair an environmental awareness board. The altercation reportedly occurred after local man Ajoy Ghosh confronted Pandey over permissions related to the positioning of the board.
Pandey, who promotes ecological conservation across India, found himself facing hostility when Ghosh, identified as the brother of a TMC-run Panchayat member, assaulted him. Following the incident, Pandey expressed his frustration and concern for his safety, mentioning his intention to seek a transfer.
The incident has sparked an investigation by local authorities as the accused remains on the run. Ghosh later admitted to acting in a fit of rage, while his brother stated he would not protect him from legal consequences if proven guilty.
