In a legally mandated transfer, the elephant named Mahadevi has been moved from a Jain monastery in Kolhapur to the Radhe Krishna Temple Elephant Welfare Trust's facility in Jamnagar.
The Bombay High Court initiated this move due to concerns about Mahadevi's declining health and psychological condition, evidenced by foot rot and distressing behaviors.
Vantara, appointed as the recipient facility by the court, was not the initiating entity but provided essential health care and rehabilitation for Mahadevi, addressing physical ailments and mental distress.
