Amid the aftermath of a devastating cloudburst in Chisoti, Jammu and Kashmir, ordinary residents rose to become extraordinary heroes. Known locally as 'Chisoti Bikers', these young men, armed with courage and two-wheelers, rushed to the disaster-stricken site on August 14 to save lives.
Bhim Singh, one of the bikers, transformed his bike from a pilgrimage transport vehicle into an emergency rescue unit, ferrying the injured to safety. He and his fellow volunteers played crucial roles in pulling survivors and bodies from the rubble during the critical first hours.
The bravery of these bikers did not go unnoticed. Local authorities praised their efforts, recognizing their significant role before official rescuers arrived. Their actions, alongside those of local volunteers and emergency services, underscore the strength and resilience of the Chisoti community amid tragedy.
