In a show of support, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Sasmit Patra praised the Indian Armed Forces for their outstanding bravery and precision during 'Operation Sindoor.' Patra expressed his party's gratitude toward the Central government for summoning an all-party meeting, representing BJD President Naveen Patnaik.

The meeting came amid heightened tensions with Pakistan, following India's operation on Wednesday targeting terror camps in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam attack. Patra reiterated the BJD's staunch support for the armed forces, emphasizing their role in safeguarding India's sovereignty and ensuring citizens' safety from terrorism.

Meanwhile, the absence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi prompted criticism, particularly from Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, who questioned Modi's decision to skip the meeting. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh briefed attendees, including Congress leaders and other political figures, on India's cross-border terrorism strategy at the meeting held in the Parliament Annexe building.
