In response to escalating security concerns amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the Punjab government is intensifying its preparedness efforts by dispatching cabinet ministers to border districts. According to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), a high-level review of emergency services will be conducted today. Ten cabinet ministers are set to visit border areas immediately following a cabinet meeting.

The statement from the CMO elaborated that the Punjab government is mobilizing resources to effectively handle the current situation. Ministers will evaluate emergency services in border districts by inspecting hospitals, fire stations, and assessing the availability of rations. Specific ministers have been assigned to Gurdaspur and Amritsar, critical border districts in the region.

Amid these developments, the District Public Relations Officer (DPRO) in Amritsar has issued a public safety advisory, urging residents to stay indoors with lights turned off and window curtains drawn. The DPRO emphasized that there is no cause for panic, as security measures are in place and a siren will signal when the situation is clear.

The DPRO also praised the armed forces for their vigilance and urged public cooperation. This heightened state of alert comes in the wake of increasing Indo-Pak tensions. Notably, two Pakistani drones were recently intercepted and shot down by the Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir's Naushera sector amid heavy artillery exchanges.
