ONGC Takes Swift Action to Cap Sivasagar Oil Leak

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma declared that ONGC is set to permanently cap a gas-leaking oil well in Sivasagar district, after nine days of unsuccessful containment efforts.

U.S. experts will assist in applying Plan C, the latest strategy, with completion expected in four to five days.

The situation is closely monitored by the government, prioritizing safety and compensating affected residents, while assessing potential actions against the operating private firm, SK Petro Services.
