Heavy rainfall battered parts of Patna on Monday, causing significant waterlogging. Areas such as the Bihar Legislative Assembly premises were submerged. Low-lying areas also faced severe inundation as the city experienced a deluge, impacting locations like Patna Railway Station.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported in its latest update on Monday that Nawada district recorded very heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours. Heavy rainfall was noted in Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Patna, Vaishali, Begusarai, and Munger. The IMD has forecasted 'Very Heavy' rainfall for Patna, Nawada, Nalanda, Rohtas, Buxar, and Kaimur districts between July 28-29.

Concurrently, Odisha's Jajpur district experienced severe flooding due to the swelling Baitarani river, affecting nearly 600 people across four villages. District authorities evacuated residents from Dashrathpur and Jajpur blocks, initiating rescue and relief efforts. Additional District Magistrate Sibanand Swain confirmed that the situation is stabilizing as water levels recede and emphasized that no casualties have been reported.
