Assam CM Sarma Highlights State's Progress in Discussions with PM Modi and Key Ministers

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma engaged in a key meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Parliament House, where he elucidated Assam's significant progress in socio-economic metrics. Chief Minister Sarma emphasized near-total implementation of major state and central welfare programs.
Dismissing partisan divide, CM Sarma extended an invitation to PM Modi for a visit to Assam on September 8, coinciding with the inauguration of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika's birth centenary celebrations and India's inaugural bio-ethanol plant at Numaligarh, Golaghat district. A traditional gamocha and mementoes were presented to the Prime Minister from the people of Assam.
Sarma also engaged with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, seeking support for Assam's economic growth. An invitation was extended for her to lay the foundation stone of Kanaklata Barua University in Gohpur, dedicated to a notable freedom fighter, focusing on industry-oriented academic curricula in fields like AI and Robotics.
Accompanied by several MPs, Sarma explored collaborations with ministries, devoting discussions to Coal India's operations in Margherita and strengthening the Jal Jeevan Mission in Assam. High-level engagements articulate Assam's trajectory towards robust economic and infrastructural development.
