Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has critiqued the Mahagathbandhan's planned rally across Bihar, suggesting that as they visit each village, they will encounter the true political climate. His comments follow Tejashwi Yadav's announcement of a post-Rakshabandhan campaign, with Rahul Gandhi slated to lead a 17-day outreach from August 9.

During a media briefing, Manjhi stated, "It's a positive move for them to rally, as it will unveil Bihar's prevailing atmosphere." In contrast, Union Minister Giriraj Singh dismissed the rally's significance, questioning the protestors' motives. "Whether it's Rahul Gandhi or Tej Pratap Yadav at the helm, it won't change Bihar's electoral outcome," Singh declared.

Tejashwi Yadav had earlier announced that the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha would initiate the election campaign immediately after Rakshabandhan, with the full force of the 'Mahagathbandhan' likely to follow. Rahul Gandhi's 17-day campaign aims to challenge the Election Commission's ongoing voter roll revisions in Bihar amidst rising political tensions.

On July 24, members of the Congress-affiliated National Student Union of India (NSUI) protested against the voter list revision in Patna, leading to police intervention and detentions. Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan accused the NDA government of failing to address high unemployment rates, resulting in what he described as "anarchy and lawlessness" in Bihar.

Patna's Additional District Magistrate, Govind Pandey, highlighted logistical concerns during the protests, emphasizing the need to clear roads for emergency services. The looming Bihar elections, expected in October or November, add to the political fervor. While the ruling NDA looks to maintain power, the opposition INDIA bloc is keen on ushering change.
