Prime Minister Narendra Modi disbursed the 20th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme on Saturday, benefiting a total of 4,161 farmers in Arunachal Pradesh's Lower Subansiri district. The scheme aims to provide financial support to farmers nationwide, enhancing their agricultural and household capabilities.

During an event streamed live from Varanasi, the Prime Minister announced the release of approximately Rs 20,500 crore to about 9.7 crore eligible farmers across India. In Lower Subansiri, local beneficiaries gathered at Abotani Hall in Hapoli to witness the live-streamed event.

Present at the programme were Deputy Commissioner Oli Perme, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Pura Dollo, and District Agriculture Officer Tasso Butung, along with other officials. The PM-KISAN scheme, launched in 2019, provides eligible landholding farmer families with Rs 6,000 annually, directly deposited into their bank accounts in three instalments.
