Veteran BJP Leader Chetoor Balakrishnan Passes Away at 80

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and national council member Chetoor Balakrishnan passed away at the age of 80. He had been residing at his home in Omassery, Kozhikode, where he succumbed to age-related health issues. His funeral is scheduled to take place at his residence on Thursday at 5 pm.
Balakrishnan's political journey saw him occupying key positions such as the BJP state vice-president and the president of the Kozhikode district. Additionally, his civic engagements included serving twice as a member of the Mukkam Grama Panchayat and leading the Mukkam Service Cooperative Bank and Kerala Gramin Bank. Furthermore, he contributed as a member of the BSNL advisory committee and the Central Government Vigilance and Monitoring Committee.
A dedicated educator, Balakrishnan retired from his role at Malayamma AUP School and had contested in the 1996 assembly elections from the Koduvally constituency. He leaves behind his wife Padmavathy, two sons, C.B. Binoj and C.B. Anoop, and daughter-in-law Dr. Cine Binoj, all of whom mourn his passing alongside the broader community. (ANI)
