Turning the Tide: Homes for the Affected and Surrendered Naxals in Chhattisgarh

In a strategic initiative to address Naxal-related violence, Chhattisgarh's Balrampur district has sanctioned 25 houses for families of Naxal victims and surrendered militants, as confirmed by a district official. The initiative aims to foster rehabilitation in conflict zones, with the first house awarded to Savita Yadav, whose husband was killed by Naxal forces.
District Panchayat Balrampur's Chief Executive Officer, Nayantara Singh Tomar, disclosed that the project reserves six homes for surrendered Naxals and 19 for families who lost members to Naxal attacks. 'This is a crucial step towards ensuring rehabilitation and support for affected families,' Tomar remarked in an ANI interview.
Meanwhile, a significant development unfolded in Narayanpur district as 12 Naxals, including five women, surrendered to police forces, influenced by ongoing anti-Naxal operations. Superintendent Robinson Guria revealed that the surrendering Naxals, who had collective bounties worth Rs 18 lakh, opted for submission due to the mounting pressure and government's surrender policy aimed at reintegration.
