The Dehradun-Mussoorie highway, previously damaged by relentless rainfall, has now been restored at most locations, confirmed an official on Thursday. Circle Officer of Mussoorie, Manoj Aswal, assured that despite the damage, the highway is largely functional. Thousands of tourists in Mussoorie remain safe, with officials urging calm among visitors.

In the wake of a devastating cloudburst in the Chamoli district, Uttarakhand's Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted an on-site review of the disaster-hit Raipur and Mussoorie constituencies. The CM's inspection followed heavy rainfall that ravaged several regions, with over 200 people impacted. The state's Emergency Operations Centre in Dehradun coordinated the inspection.

Speaking to the press, CM Dhami updated on the crisis, reporting that 35 houses were damaged, 20 individuals injured, and 14 remain missing post-disaster. Rescue operations, led by NDRF, SDRF, ITBP, and the police, are ongoing. CM Dhami emphasized the need for readiness, urging districts to stay alert for September's remaining monsoon. Pilgrims have been advised to plan travels according to IMD weather forecasts.
