The onset of Navratri saw a large influx of devotees at Shimla's historic Kalibari Temple, as individuals sought divine blessings to help restore normalcy after Himachal Pradesh's recent natural calamities. This year's festival is marked by earnest prayers not just for prosperity but for the rebuilding of lives and communities ravaged by prolonged monsoon disruptions.

Speaking to ANI, Chaman Sharma, a local resident, shared his wishes for a blessed Navratri, noting the special addition of an extra day this year. He emphasized the significance of resilience following the disasters, expressing hope that Goddess Durga's blessings would ensure health, peace, and prosperity for all. This year, although Shimla itself was not as severely impacted as other areas, the collective anxiety persists among residents.

Temple priest Mukti Chakravarti expressed similar sentiments, leading prayers on Navratri's first day. Highlighting the strong turnout as a testament to enduring faith, he urged solidarity, compassion, and genuine devotion. Despite the challenges, the enduring spiritual significance of the Kalibari Temple continues to draw worshippers from all over, as prayers focus on healing and recovery for affected families.
