IIM Sambalpur's Foundation Day Celebrations Coincide with Vibrant Dussehra Festivities

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan attended the 11th foundation day ceremony of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur, where he applauded the institute's substantial advancements and welcomed students from across India. "I'm here for the 11th Foundation Day of IIM Sambalpur and I congratulate the institution on its achievements. The students, who have successfully passed the entrance exams from various regions, are exceptionally talented. I extend a warm welcome to them," Pradhan addressed the media.

Additionally, the Minister extended his wishes for the Dussehra festival. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed his greetings on Vijayadashami, a significant Hindu festival celebrated nationwide. In a social media post on X, Modi reflected on the occasion, stating, "Vijayadashami symbolizes the triumph of good and truth over evil and untruth. I hope that this holy day inspires everyone to advance courageously on the path of wisdom and devotion. Happy Vijayadashami to my family across the country." Dussehra this year falls on October 2, commemorating Lord Rama's victory over demon king Ravana, representing the triumph of righteousness and truth.

In Jabalpur, women participated in Sindoor Khela, a traditional celebration before the Durga idol at the Siddhiwala Bus Library Association. During the event, they applied vermillion to each other, ceremoniously marking the end of goddess Durga's annual 10-day sojourn to her parents' home, a hallmark of Dussehra festivities. (ANI)
