The Delhi Police have issued a notice to Sunil Singh, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, as part of an ongoing investigation into a complaint alleging a threat to Premanand Maharaj. This notice adheres to a mandate from Delhi's Tis Hazari Court, which demanded an Action Taken Report from the police.
An investigation officer from Subzi Mandi Police Station has informed Singh to participate in the investigation by October 8. The court had previously requested the Station House Officer of Subzi Mandi Police Station to respond to the complaint and submitted an ATR on October 4, with further proceedings deferred at the request of the investigation officer until December 15, 2025.
The complaint, filed by Parikshit Sharma, an advocate, under Section 175(3) of the BNSS, seeks to register an FIR against the accused who allegedly threatened Premanand Maharaj via a Facebook post. Failing police action led Sharma to petition the court, resulting in the current legal process.
