The Merck Foundation, philanthropic wing of Merck KGaA Germany, successfully concluded the 7th Edition of the Merck Foundation First Ladies Initiative Summit in Dubai. The event brought together First Ladies from 14 African and Asian nations, who served as Guests of Honor and Keynote Speakers.
Senator Dr. Rasha Kelej, CEO of the Merck Foundation, emphasized the foundation's commitment to building healthcare capacity and promoting social health initiatives. Highlights included a commitment of over 2,280 scholarships for young doctors in 44 underserved medical specialties.
The summit also marked World Infertility Awareness Month with key events aimed at empowering women. Discussions covered a spectrum of social issues, such as infertility stigma, women's education, and gender-based violence, all underscored by collaborative efforts from global health experts and policymakers.
