During World No Tobacco Day, more than 23,000 individuals participated in a symbolic cessation of tobacco use, according to claims by Delhi-NCR's Cancer Healer Centre. The campaign, named 'break up with sutta', aimed to creatively engage smokers, moving away from traditional fear-based methods.
The initiative took place across 29 centres spanning 17 cities and inspired many to voluntarily surrender tobacco products. Tea stalls were converted into intervention zones, offering 'chai is better single' cups, a gesture challenging the popular 'chai-sutta' culture. The campaign underscores a novel approach to reducing tobacco dependency.
