Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov declared that Western countries would eventually look to rebuild ties with Moscow, but cautioned that the nature of these relationships would shift significantly. Speaking at the Terra Scientia National Educational Youth Forum, Lavrov expressed a strong skepticism about Western intentions, citing past betrayals.
Lavrov recalled incidents from 2014 and recent years, alleging Western duplicity in Ukraine's political crises. His comments emerged as nearly 100 Ukrainian drones were intercepted overnight in Russian airspace, one of the most considerable UAV incursions in weeks, escalating military tensions.
In response to these unfolding events, Russia and Ukraine plan to engage in further peace talks in Turkey, focusing on prisoner exchanges and humanitarian issues. Despite ongoing disputes, both nations underscore the importance of diplomacy to address the fundamental causes of their conflict.
