Protests in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) have continued to escalate, reaching their fifth consecutive day. Initially sparked by government inaction on 38 persistent demands, the demonstrations have transformed into a broader uprising against alleged military excesses, effectively paralyzing daily life in the area.
In a display of mounting opposition, large groups of protesters from Rawalakot are marching towards Muzaffarabad, with opposition figures in Pakistan sharing videos of the protests to increase visibility. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Syeda Zahr described the demonstration as a 'sea of people' moving towards the regional capital.
Chaudhry Muddasar Raza Machhiana, Coordinator to former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, praised the demonstrators' determination, expressing admiration for their courage. Meanwhile, Ehtesabb TV has predicted that the movement's momentum could potentially spread to other regions such as Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan, challenging all ruling classes.
