In a notable development following Thursday's raid on Islamabad's National Press Club, Minister of State for Interior, Talal Chaudhry, issued a public apology. The incident, which involved police officers reportedly assaulting journalists, has ignited significant outrage both locally and internationally.

On the day of the raid, footage broadcast on DawnNewsTV captured the shocking scenes of law enforcement attacking media personnel within the press club's confines. Additional videos circulating on social media depicted officers aggressively removing journalists from the facility's cafeteria. The Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, consequently ordered an inquiry to determine the event's specifics.

During a press briefing in Islamabad, Chaudhry expressed the government's regret and affirmed that Information Minister is aligned on corrective actions. He assured the press that such incidents will not 'disrespect the press club' in the future and promised collaborative efforts with the club's administration. Call for transparency in the investigation was echoed by PML-N Senator Irfan Siddiqui, who demanded accountability for those involved.
