Haryana witnessed an extensive civil defence mock drill, Operation Abhyaas, across its districts on Wednesday, as part of a nationwide exercise orchestrated to simulate hostile scenarios including air raids and multiple fire emergencies.
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs initiated this drill amid looming tensions with Pakistan post the Pahalgam terror attack, underscoring the intricate and novel threats. In bonhomie with police, fire services, and health departments, Haryana aimed to shore up public preparedness strategies.
Notable sites like Ambience Mall and Hero MotoCorp premises buzzed with simulated activities such as blackout exercises, mobilization of emergency resources, and public advisories on blackout precautions. Haryana's affirmative action drew commendation with directives for an annual drill on May 7 to ensure sustained awareness and readiness.
