Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara announced on Thursday that well-trained special forces have been deployed to protect key installations in the state. This move comes amid increasing tensions between India and Pakistan following the recent Operation Sindoor.
According to Parameshwara, Superintendents of Police in all districts have been instructed to take necessary precautionary measures. He emphasized the role of the Karnataka State Industrial Security Force, which is safeguarding critical sites like the Kaiga nuclear power plant and the Krishna Raja Sagara Dam. The minister noted that while the available forces are currently deployed, there is a need for additional personnel.
In response to a union government advisory, mock drills were conducted in Bengaluru. Similar exercises are planned for Karwar, Raichur, and Mysuru, based on intelligence inputs. These drills aim to prepare the forces for any potential threats, ensuring the safety of strategic locations across Karnataka.
