Uttar Pradesh's Eight-Year Battle Against Terror Networks: A Crime-Free State in the Making

In a concerted effort over the past eight years, the Uttar Pradesh government has launched an aggressive campaign against organized crime and terrorism, resulting in the elimination of 230 criminals and the dismantling of extensive sleeper cell networks across the state, according to a government statement released Monday.

Since 2017, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state has enforced a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and crime. This strategy has seen the neutralization of 142 sleeper cells and the destruction of 11 financing networks, making Uttar Pradesh a less hospitable environment for terrorist activities.

The state's Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has been at the forefront of these operations, utilizing advanced intelligence and technology to uncover and dismantle networks connected with prominent global and domestic terrorist organizations. Additionally, the crackdown has led to significant arrests and the seizure of fake currency, thereby disrupting financial channels used by terrorists.
