In a daring confrontation, illegal sand miners reportedly assaulted a group of government officials and forcibly repossessed two impounded sand-laden tractors. The incident took place in the Mau Ranipur region, disrupting efforts to curb unlawful sand mining.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ajay Yadav revealed that tensions escalated during an operation to prevent illegal sand transport from a site near Jait Mata Mandir in Kachnev village. The suspects, including tractor operators, are said to have behaved aggressively, overwhelming the SDM's staff and escaping with the confiscated vehicles.
A formal complaint was lodged by SDM security personnel Kamta Prasad, leading to a police case under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Authorities are now actively pursuing the perpetrators, identified as Sohit Yadav, Ankit Yadav, and others unknown, as investigations continue.
