Ravada A Chandrasekhar Appointed as Kerala's New Police Chief

The Kerala government has officially named senior IPS officer Ravada A Chandrasekhar as the new police chief of the state. This decision was made during a special cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Chandrasekhar's appointment was finalized from a shortlist of senior officers, as recommended by the Union Public Service Commission's empanelment committee. This choice was confirmed in a statement from the Chief Minister's Office.
With this appointment, Chandrasekhar succeeds Sheikh Darvesh Saheb, who retires today. Currently on a central deputation, Chandrasekhar belongs to the 1991 batch of IPS officers.
