The ICE 91 train, with approximately 500 passengers on board, was en route from Hamburg, Germany, to Vienna, Austria, when the attack took place near the southern German town of Strasskirchen.
According to Bavarian police, the incident unfolded at around 1:55 p.m. local time (1155 GMT). The suspect, armed with dangerous objects, caused multiple injuries before being subdued and arrested by authorities. He was reportedly injured during the incident.
