In a significant move to foster communal harmony, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat engaged in dialogue with prominent Muslim clerics and scholars, focusing on building understanding between Hindus and Muslims. Umer Ahmed Iliyasi, chief of the All India Imam Organisation, expressed optimism about the discussions.
The meeting, which lasted over three hours, included around 60 religious leaders such as imams, muftis, and madrasas' heads. Hosted at Haryana Bhawan by the All India Imam Organisation, the session was part of an ongoing effort to establish a continuous dialogue aimed at unity and national interest, according to RSS spokesperson Sunil Ambekar.
Topics for discussion included enhancing communication between religious institutions such as temples and mosques. Bhagwat acknowledged the need for the initiative, and both parties expressed commitment to advancing this collaborative effort, emphasizing dialogue as a central means to resolve conflicts and misconceptions.
