A verdict is expected on August 11 in the case of alleged illegal construction by Samajwadi Party's Sambhal MP Ziaur Rahman Barq. The sub-divisional magistrate will announce the decision regarding the home built in Deepa Sarai locality without proper map approval.
Notice was served to Barq on December 5 of last year, followed by reminders, as officials pushed for compliance. The SDM, Vikas Chandra, stated multiple chances were offered to Barq to submit a revised building map, but the opportunity was not taken.
The situation was compounded when a scheduled hearing on July 22 was postponed due to a work abstention by the lawyers. Now, the awaited decision will clarify the consequences of the unauthorized construction.
