New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch explained that surveillance footage captured the suspect, identified as Shane Tamura, departing a double-parked black BMW on Park Avenue. Armed with an M4 rifle, he made his way into a nearby building where he began his deadly assault.
Describing his movements, Tisch highlighted Tamura's methodical progression through the building, shooting at random, and ultimately ending his own life on the 33rd floor of an office complex.
