A bizarre scheme involving pigeons and LED lights stirred panic across western Uttar Pradesh. Authorities arrested two men on Wednesday for creating a fake drone scare by releasing pigeons outfitted with red and green lights.

The accused, Shoeb and Sakib, were apprehended following reports of mysterious flying objects in the night skies, allegedly feared to be drones. The police investigation uncovered two pigeons, a cage, and LED lights used in the ruse, which misled villagers and prompted nighttime vigils, as confirmed by Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar.

The operation was carried out in Jatwara village under the Kakroli police jurisdiction. An FIR was filed against the duo, invoking sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. In recognition of their efforts, the police team involved in solving the case received a reward of Rs 20,000 from SSP Kumar.
