The acquittal of seven accused individuals, including high-profile figures, in the 2008 Malegaon blast case has sparked outrage and disbelief among the victims' families and their supporters. Kul Jamat-e Tanzeem, an organization aiding the families, has voiced strong dissatisfaction with the court's decision.
The blast, which occurred on September 29, 2008, claimed the lives of six people and injured over 100 others. However, after nearly 17 years, the special court found insufficient evidence to convict the accused, including former BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur and Lt Col Prasad Purohit.
Firoz Ahmed Azmi, from Kul Jamat-e Tanzeem, expressed shock at the verdict, questioning the direction of justice for the victims. He called for the investigation to continue and for agencies to take the case to the Supreme Court in pursuit of the real culprits.
