Mob Mistakenly Assaults Innocent Nepalese Woman Accused of Theft

In a disturbing incident in Bareilly, a Nepalese woman was assaulted by a mob under suspicion of theft. The police reported that the woman, identified as Sushmita Saru Magar alias Kajal, had come to Bareilly from Nepal in search of employment.
While staying at an acquaintance's house, she was mistaken for a thief by local residents who then chased and attacked her. Despite her frantic pleas asserting her innocence, she was subjected to a brutal beating. A video of the assault surfaced online, prompting swift police action.
Four suspects have been apprehended. Authorities are working diligently to identify others involved, promising strict consequences for the vigilante behavior exhibited by the mob.
