An inter-state illegal firearm racket was dismantled by the Rourkela Police on Thursday, leading to the arrest of Rajesh Sahu, a Bihar native. Sahu was found in possession of 10 firearms and six rounds of live ammunition, as confirmed by a police officer.

The 25-year-old accused, hailing from Munger district, was apprehended from the Plantsite police station area based on credible intelligence about illegal arms trafficking. Police Superintendent Nitesh Wadhwani stated that the raid took place near Gandhi road, Rourkela, resulting in Sahu's arrest and the seizure of firearms intended for local criminals.

The investigation continues as police strive to capture other operatives involved in the racket. Wadhwani reported that since the inception of a special drive against illegal arms trade on October 2 last year, Rourkela Police has registered 13 cases, seized 27 illegal arms, and detained 51 individuals.
