Chief Minister N Rangasamy reiterated the call for statehood for Puducherry, emphasizing the Union Territory's need for full decision-making powers. These constraints hinder swift governance, he noted.
While addressing freedom fighters at a Directorate of Information and Publicity event, Rangasamy explained the continual need for approvals from the Lt Governor and Union Home Ministry obstructs efficient governance.
Moreover, the chief minister announced an increase in the monthly pension for freedom fighters and discussed welfare programs aimed at assisting marginalized communities.
