On Independence Day, Kangra police made significant arrests in the fight against drug trafficking. Three individuals, including two Russians, were apprehended with a total of 180.30 grams of hashish. This was achieved through swift police action in two separate incidents.

Superintendent of Police Ashok Ratan revealed that officers at Panchrukhi police station intercepted a vehicle, resulting in the seizure of 102 grams of hashish from two Russian nationals, one of whom was a woman. The suspects were taken into custody under the NDPS Act, and their vehicle was confiscated.

Meanwhile, Baijnath police station's patrol team recovered 78.30 grams of hashish from local resident Vishal Kumar. He was also arrested under the NDPS Act. SP Ratan affirmed ongoing strict measures against drug dealers and called for public assistance, assuring that informers' identities will be protected.
