A violent confrontation erupted in Jharkhand's Garhwa district on Sunday, leaving at least ten people injured, including six police officers. The turmoil followed a domestic dispute in Gurdi village, where a police team had been dispatched to rescue hostages.

According to Garhwa police station in-charge, Brij Kumar, trouble began when Taksheer Khan allegedly assaulted his wife, Rakiba Khatun. The following day, an intervention attempt by Rakiba's family to resolve the marital conflict resulted in an altercation with Khan's relatives and a group of villagers.

As tensions escalated, the six-member police team called to the scene was attacked, prompting reinforcement of additional forces to restore order. Kumar assures that the situation is now stable, with serious injuries being treated at Sadar hospital, and an investigation to hold culprits accountable is underway.
