Honoring Heroes: CRPF's 'Shaheed Smarak' in Bastar

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) recently unveiled a memorial, dubbed 'Shaheed Smarak', in Kondagaon, Chhattisgarh, to honor its jawans and officers who died in anti-Naxal operations over the past 20 years. The inauguration took place on Independence Day, marking a significant homage to fallen heroes.
Bastar, known for its intense confrontations between security forces and Maoists, has seen numerous casualties over the years. With the Union government planning to end Left Wing Extremism by 2026, this memorial stands as a poignant reminder of the bravery of 460 CRPF personnel who lost their lives since 2003.
Located outside the CRPF's 188th battalion camp on NH-30, the 'Shaheed Smarak' not only commemorates the ultimate sacrifice made by these officers but also seeks to inspire future generations. Commanding Officer Bhavesh Chaudhary emphasized that it represents the enduring fight against Naxalism in Chhattisgarh.
